Filmed mostly in October 2009 – before the earthquake – on a Sony PMW-EX1 High Definition Camcorder, this is a tribute to Haiti and her people. I think it captures many of the things I love about this little country where I spend a lot of my time – the natural beauty, colorful sights, the warmth and humor of the people, the adorable kids and of course, the craziness. Shot in Jacmel, Cap Haitien, Hinche, Bassin Zim, Carrisade and the on the roads in between. The slow-motion shots were created by over-cranking – filmed at 60 frames per second for playback at 24. Edited on Avid Media Composer 4. The song is “Haiti Cherie” by Jacques (Jackito) Sauveur Jean.
